Feliz Hotel Boracay rolls out beach cleanup
Boracay, Philippines – Boracay Island is popularly known for its captivating four-kilometer-long, pristine, white sand beach. Feliz Hotel, situated in the heart of the island, has worked on another form of community service effort which aims to maintain the island’s cleanliness. Despite the inclement weather brought by the habagat, the Feliz Hotel Boracay team woke up on an early Saturday morning and huddled up at the white beach to do a clean-up activity.
This activity is part of the fourth-year anniversary activities, which aims to steer a good working relationship among the team members and also a way to maintain the beach’s cleanliness which serves as the source of livelihood.
The teams were divided into two and were armed with tongs, gloves, and plastic trash bags. The first team was composed of Culinary, Engineering, Front Office, and Sales Marketing, and they were assigned to Station 3. The second team was composed of F&B, Housekeeping, Finance, and IT, and they were posted to Station 1.
Everyone proactively picked up trash and items not belonging to the sea. Most of the waste that was collected were plastic bags, plastic containers, liquor bottles, and food pack containers.
After the beach clean-up, the collected trash was coordinated and turned over to the LGU for proper disposal. Meanwhile, the team was rewarded with a hearty breakfast at the hotel.
